Cave Campground is a large, popular campground draped along
the banks of Hat Creek. The forest is denser here than
at nearby Hat Creek Campground, so Cave Campground is cooler
on hot summer days. Some of the sites are next to Highway 89
and suffer traffic noise.
Piped water (April-Oct), 26 campsites, pit toilets and flush
toilets.
Subway Cave (self-guided lava
tube) is across Highway 89 from the campground. This
is a must-see. Be sure to bring a flashlight.
