The other hikes in the eastern half of Lassen Park lack
dramatic vistas. Not this one.
Mount Harkness gets you well
above the broad, green forest, and up to where you can 'see
forever' in all directions.
Most people hike back down
the same way they came up. But make a loop of it, for
new and different sights and sensations on the way back.
